Can’t Wait Wednesday # 3- Little Thieves

It’s Wednesday again! I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy a long weekend/birthday celebration so it’s a little hard to believe that the work week is almost done.

As is becoming a weekly tradition I’m joining Wishful Endings‘ weekly meme Can’t Wait Wednesdays. Each week bloggers will post about upcoming books that we are excited to be reading soon.

For this week’s Can’t Wait Wednesdays I will be discussing Margaret Owen’s upcoming release “Little Thieves”.

Plot Summary:

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful, kind princess who was betrothed to the prince of a faraway kingdom. When she set off for her new home, her mother gave her a maid for a companion on the journey.

But instead of serving the princess, the wicked maid stole her place.

For a year the true princess toiled away like a common goose girl, while the wicked maid lived high in the palace, fooling the kingdom. But the truth came out. The princess took back her name, her crown, and her husband, and the imposter died for her crimes.

Then one day, the wicked maid…

…told her own story (Goodreads, 2021).

Comments:

I stumbled on this book completely by accident via Instagram. I had enjoyed Margaret Owen’s “Merciful Crows” series and hadn’t realized she was writing something new. I’m also a fan of dark fairytales and when the so called villain gets to tell their story. In fact this book reminds me a bit of an old favorite, “Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister” by Gregory Maguire.

Let me know if you think you would enjoy this book and/or what books you are looking forward to reading soon.
