Happy Wednesday everyone! I had a nice bookish weekend this week having gotten to browse a cute Long Island bookstore with my boyfriend. I couldn’t resist so added “The Lost Apothecary” and “Next Year in Havana” to my collection. I’ve read “Next Year in Havana” before and I absolutely loved it so having stumbled on it again it made perfect sense to get myself a copy. “The Lost Apothecary” has been on my TBR for a while and I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about it. I’m really looking forward to finally being able to read it.
But I digress. For this week’s Can’t Wait Wednesday I will be discussing “The House of Always” by Jenn Lyons. Can’t Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings. Each week bloggers will post about upcoming books that we are excited to be reading soon.
In the aftermath of the Ritual of Night, everything has changed.
The Eight Immortals have catastrophically failed to stop Kihrin’s enemies, who are moving forward with their plans to free Vol Karoth, the King of Demons. Kihrin has his own ideas about how to fight back, but even if he’s willing to sacrifice everything for victory, the cost may prove too high for his allies.
Now they face a choice: can they save the world while saving Kihrin, too? Or will they be forced to watch as he becomes the very evil they have all sworn to destroy (Goodreads, 2021).
I love this series! Jenn Lyons has created a spectacular world and each book adds a bit to the story while still managing to hold the reader in suspense. With only two books left I can’t wait to get my hands on this one so I can learn what happens next for Kihrin and company.
